Winner of three Prime-Time Emmy® Awards, Michael Getlin knows a thing or two about creating compelling imagery.
In business in the same Woodland Hills location since 1987, Getlin Media has produced award-winning images and sound for advertising, television, motion pictures, and the music industry.
Michael bought his first serious camera at the age of thirteen, and it became a constant companion. Living in New York City, there was always someone or something to photograph, and photography became his passion.
Throughout high school, Michael covered every sporting and social event as lead photographer for his school newspaper. At home (much to the dismay of his parents), he converted a small guest bathroom into a black-and-white darkroom. After several years in advertising, Michael struck gold with a series of successful stock photographs, and launched his production company.
Getlin Media soon branched out into the music business and post production work for television and feature films. In 1988, almost two years before its public release, Michael became a beta-tester for a software product that was to revolutionize the world of image editing: Photoshop. Since then, Michael has become a recognized expert in digital photography.
In 1993, a television producer friend and associate asked Michael to shoot his daughter's wedding. Accepting the assignment, Michael photographed the young actress' country club wedding using a documentary approach. Two things happened: the photos turned out beautifully, and Michael discovered that he adored photographing weddings. Shortly thereafter, Getlin Media's wedding division - Michael Getlin Wedding Photojournalism - was born.
A member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), we limit our photographers' shooting schedules to guarantee our clients personalized attention. Our photographers cover only one wedding on a given day.

Michael Getlin leads a talented team of hand-picked wedding photojournalists. Personally trained in his techniques, these remarkable photographers share Michael's vision, passion, and standards of excellence, and regularly shoot alongside him at weddings. All our wedding photography packages include two professional photographers.
Most every wedding photojournalist in Southern California provides formal group photography to document family history. In our planning sessions with our couples, we encapsulate formal portraiture into a single session, often lasting 20 minutes or less. The benefits of our unique approach:
• You'll have more time: Except for the formals, all our photography is photojournalism, involving little or no interaction with family and guests (and no time involvement on your part).
• You'll have more fun: Our unobtrusive style allows your wedding day to flow naturally, without the interference of a photographer whose style is all about controlling your wedding day.
